Does The Brain Have It's Own Being?

I know it sounds silly, but hear me out. People do things unaware all of the time that they cannot really control, especially mentally ill people. Almost as if the brain is an organism inside of the body that is it's own being apart from what a person consciously wants, in an almost scary way. Do we really have our own being, or are we just a slave doing what we are told to do by the brain...
