Side effects of Zyban?

I took Wellbutrin when I did quit smoking several years ago. At the time I smoked just over 3 packs per day and when I started the Wellbutrin I immediately went down to under a pack a day-it literally cut my cravings that much. However, it doesn't seem to work for everyone. The only side effect i ever had was profuse sweating for about 60 minutes about 1 hour after taking each dose, but I believe that was largely due to taking it in combination with another medication that caused sweating as well. I have never heard of decreased ual function resulting from Wellbutrin as it doesn't effect serotonin and it is actually given to combat the known ual side effects ociated with SSRI's, so I certainly wouldn't worry about that. As far as other side effects, I never felt anxious or had difficulty sleeping, but those have never been issues for me to begin with, although I know some people certainly have noticed both to increase initially. Those side effects, when they do manifest, usually clear within a couple weeks. If you're a heavy smoker, I think it is absolutely worth trying and NYS is now offereing a free Rx for it for about a 6 week supply.
