Would you believe facts if they went against your beliefs?

Yes, I would believe the facts once I was able to process them and come to terms with their legitimacy. Christianity tries to scare us into believing we'll go to a place called "hell" because the bible tells them it exists somewhere (it must be on a different astral plane/different dimension, oh wait, most of that religious belief speak against the ideal of astral planes/other dimensions when attacking those of different beliefs). Plain and simple, geological evidence and other facts have come to light to dispute events "recorded" in the bible. But, christians believe that just because some geological evidence appears to prove a few cities mentioned in the bible actually may have existed is proof the bible itself is God's word. However, stories are constantly published using actual cities and sites that exist in the real world to spin a tale of fantasy around. I was a Christian for about four decades, dogged by a nagging feeling quite often as I read the bible because things weren't right but the truth was kept at bay for quite some time, now I've discovered many pages that are wrong and why.
