What can we do to stop shootings in our country like at Virginia tech?

People people people why can't we understand that their is a way to stop these things from happening. The answer is not more cameras, They just watch. The answer is not more security, they will be tied up in petty stuff. The answer is not better gun control, It just keeps me and you from having one. The answer is to allow more people to carry a gun. If you take the guns from Lawful people then you give the people who have no regard for law an advantage. We have all kinds of gun laws and restrictions. Did that stop the shooter? Nope he didn't care! If more people have weapons, idiots like that school shooter may think twice about doing what he did because he knows he will be fired upon as well. Crime in general will go down because the perp won't know who is carrying. It is a deterant. But some yahoo is going to tell me I'm wrong. You didn't have the kind of violence we have today. Yes years ago we still had people killing one another but it was a rare accurance. The answer to your question is we the citizens are the only ones that can stop this. Very few police will be able to help and even fewer people from govenment will lend a hand. It's not everyone in these establishments are bad but those who run it are nothing but evil.
