Why is gas getting cheaper, and no one really asking why on the news?

I think the whole gas crisis and the prices we were paying was drummed up by the government to begin with. When the economy wasn't as bad as it is now, gas was high and so was everything else (food, oil, etc). It is amazing that the economy is doing so badly and the price of gas miraculously drops to under a 1.50 a gallon. People should question it because it doesn't make any sense. If food went up so much because of the price of gas, why hasn;t the cost gone down with the gas? I think the government regulates the price of gas and yes, Bush did has oil investments so he probably had something to do with it.
