Blackberry Torch 9800 App Error?

Alrighty, so I bought a BB Torch 9800 off of a buddy of mine. The other day I went in rogers to put a sim card and activate it. Everything for the most part went smoothly, so the person who was helping me decided to reboot the software and thats when the problems began. We started to get an App Error 606. So we ended up calling a CSR to help us, he managed to figure out the problem but the problem was that there was a protected pword on the thing he was trying to access on my phone. I don't know the pword and the person who sold me the phone is clueless. Is there any ways around this?
